While in NYC yesterday I stopped by the IWC Flagship and picked up a Santoni strap for my PPC. I had already added one for my Portugieser. I was so enthralled with the first improvement that it took no thought to add it for my other prized Portuguese. The PPC Santoni is a bit lighter and with a bit more yellow in the leather. I think it's a tremendous addition(s). What do you think.

Focus on straps, not the dials.

Wow, that looks stunning! As you know, I love that PPC and the new strap is beautiful enhancement! I'm considering a black Santoni for my VC Ingenieur.

Great addition Bill, I added a light brown on my steel 5001 back in 2011, reasoning for the light brown is straps darken with wear but so far no darkening so next strap a dark brown. Oh to be able to walk into an AD and select the strap by colour hue and scale size! Not an option in the UK.

Really great looking straps Bill. I'm still contemplating one for my Portuguese handwoud, but it looks like you van't go wrong with a Santoni on any Portuguese watch...

These straps go so well with gold cases, wonderful. Certainly the lighter strap looks beautiful, congratulations. The cost/benefit ratio is very positive to me.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

    Greetings Bill,

Santoni's look terrific! Nice to be able to get the "pick of the litter" if the Boutique has a stock selection. I added a Dark Santoni to my Laureus VC-Inge. Those who have had the opportunity to handle these gorgeous straps know that each is unique in scale and shading. My AD ordered a couple so that I would have a choice as well as including what was in stock on the Potofino's as options. Turns out, the one on a 8day was the best and he was happy to swap it to satisfy my desires.

Wondering how the "dark" Santoni might look like with the moonphase and it's effect in giving it some additional POP. The lighter Santoni would also be a great pairing with the 5001. Should you have a chance to reverse them and utilize your excellent photography skills, that would be a treat to see.

Enjoy the new Santoni's. They really do make those beautiful watches even more stunning if that was even possible.

    Best,

    Andy

I just did the same, Bill. I have a light brown Santoni on my 5001 and enjoy it so much just bought a dark brown which will go on either my Jubilee or my Portofino Moonphase. It is on its way to my house as we speak.

Great minds think alike. I just happen to be closer to a Boutique. I'm sure you will enjoy having both and switching back and forth.

    Bill,

They look fantastic - so elegant, the straps really compliment the pieces beautifully.

Also, have to add, thanks for the photos. I love both of these models and your photography is a treat - much appreciated.

So I know you spent some money at the boutique. How about at the photography store? LOL
