My name is Donny Kurniawan and I bought a watch Artikel no: IW377714 Le Petit Prince Pilot Chrono Watch.

I was very happy with the watch and been wearing it normal for my daily activities. I owned this today in a less than a month.

Little later did I noticed that there is a quite noticeably scratches on the promoted Sapphire glass (Photos attached) at 12 O'clock all the way single scratch to 2 O'clock hour hand. It is so heartbreaking to see that I own this watch not even a month old and yet I got to see scratches on it.

I wonder if these scratches are normal wear and tear of this IWC Watch? It would be too much to ask whether this is under IWC Service Warranty and if so, How could I claim that?

Thank You for your kind attention to this matter. I am waiting to hear from you.

    Warm Regards.

    Sure, what else ?!

No way. Would you ask a similar question, if you have scratched your smart phone display ?

    That is not so nice.
Sapphire Glass is one of the hardest types of glass. Only diamond is harder.
The glass of my 25 year old watch for everyday use does not scratch at all and is used daily and not spared. (mountainbiking, swimming, work etc etc)
I think such a scratch can only be produced with a very hard object and you definitely should notice when worn.
I think this should not happen in normal daily use.

You can IWC ask for warranty but it is unlikely that they accept this.

    Good luck!

That's what I am going to do today at a local IWC Service Center. Thanks a lot.

    To HEBE,

Thank you for your diligent comments but when you compare smart phone display to a sapphire IWC glass, I kinda doubt whether you are comparing apple to apple. HEBE, the answer to your question "Would you ask a similar question, if you have scratched your smart phone display ?" I do not think that this question needs answering.

I have other watch that I have worn like more than 10 years, sapphire glass and today no scratches at all. But sadly to say this IWC that I purchased less than a month ago, got scratch.

Anyway, thank you for your comments HEBE.

Me too. These scratches are normal wear and tear of this IWC Watch.
