Sciencefiction: CF III, the Challengers!

For me an in-house movement matters. Classic, Vintage, Pilot whatever the model as long as it has an in-house movement. Pilot watch is OK although a bit predictable/ of the moment - which might well be the simplest solution for IWC's manufacturing departments. However I wouldn't mind something with more heritage and maybe with less fashion like a manual wind Regulateur.
Anyway whatever IWC suggests I'm sure it will be a lovely watch to own.

I'd like to see the new steel Doppelchrono on bracelet as a CFF III because it's an all time classic. The metal bracelet and a special (personal?) engraving on the back will be enough to make it a perfect CF watch.

Forum software seems to have problems.

Tilo, tap your name against each duplication and you will be able to edit them to near nothing, but not delete the entry, only IWC and MF can do that and he is busy on another matter.

To my thinking, the Worldtmer has a sufficiently in-house movement. Also, it is about 20% less than the new Doppel, and that can make a real difference to many here.

Very nice analysis and thank you for taking the time to putting these thoughts together.

Taking into consideration the various constraints (current collection, manufacturing, cost, etc), some choices in no particular order would be:
1. either Aquatimer for the reasons you stated
2. a vintage Inge which I had not considered until reading MF's very attractive specs in an earlier thread (made me consider despite already owning one)
3. a pilots watch - possibly a Mark - after all this is the year of the pilots
4. a white dial vintage Portofino in SS (this may be borderline wrt cost)
5. an (affordable) Siderale - the ultimate forum watch! How is this for Sci Fi? :)

At the end, the biggest attraction the way I see it comes more from what this watch represents being a collectors' forum watch and I'm confident that the powers that be will make a very thoughtful choice.

Agree and I think it would be a nice watch to customise as wel with the bezel etc.

Would it be possible, whenever it'll be, to have further info about the movement? (pictures, lubrication chart etc.).

I make a guess: base calibre Sellita ETA 2892-2 replica, plus UTC in-house module, produced directly by Sellita under licence. Am I far from reality?

Roberto, I don't have details nor could I publish the lubrication chart if I did. The movement is an ETA 2892 base. No IWC Pilot's watches use Sellita. The world time module is by IWC and is essentially the same as the UTC module designed by Kurt Klaus.
