Dear Forum members,
A challenging year draws to a close. The year was characterized by a difficult economic climate, in which we were obliged to plot our course prudently and with foresight. Today we are very happy to have reached our port of destination safely after a turbulent voyage.
The new Aquatimer family is also a source of great pleasure for us. In this context IWC Schaffhausen supports the charitable Charles Darwin Foundation in its projects on the Galapagos Islands and in so doing remains true to its guiding principle of taking its ecological and social responsibility seriously.
2010 will be an exciting year for us all. First and foremost, IWC will breathe new life into its most traditional watch family at the SIHH watch fair and will escort the Portuguese range into the new year with some fascinating novelties. Hand-in-hand with this is a film premiere, which you can watch on the Internet from 7 pm onwards on 19 January 2010.
I should now like to thank both you and our moderators, Michael Friedberg and Alexander Linz, for the loyalty and commitment on which our Forum thrives. At this point, I should also like to extend a welcome to all the newcomers who have joined us in the course of the year.
I wish you a relaxing and restful holiday and a very happy new year, and look forward to your regular return visits as a guest to www.iwc.com in 2010.
With my very best wishes from Schaffhausen,
Georges Kern
