    Hi all,
I found the below (in quotation marks) on TZ, written by Foie Gras and MF. I hope I don't violate any copyrights. The description of how to set the moonphase came with a general description of the original ref. 5251 Portofino.
My question is, can I set the moonphase of my VC Portofino in a similar manner?? Or, do I need to go a full 24 hour cycle to advance the moonphase?

"There are only 2 positions on the crown; pushed in is for winding and pulled out for time and moon phase settings. The moon phase is easily set, by cycling between 10 p.m. forward to 2 a.m., and then back again, each cycle advancing the phase of the moon by one day."

The following is from the instruction booket for the Ref. 5448 Portofino (I've provided a link to the PDF file on the link below):

    "Setting the moon phase display
The moon phase display is connected to the hour hand and can be adjusted by moving the hands forwards (crown in position 2). "

That would seem to indicate you need to advance the hour hand a full 24 hours.

    Try this link

    www.iwc.ch/upload/instructions/IWA33777_REF5448.pdf

    Which does work

IWC software adds "https://www.iwc.com/member/forum/" to the begining if I put it in the link URL to read:

    https://www.iwc.com/member/forum/www.iwc.ch/upload/instructions/IWA33777_REF5448.pdf

    Which does not work.

Diff btwn old and new Portofino...

... in terms of this particular feature?
I have searched around, but so far found no reason why it should NOT be possible to set the moonphase on the new c. 98 the same way as for the c. 95.
    Anyone?
It's quite a job to set the moon phase, and more importantly, I have a strong feeling that it's not that great winding the mvmnt. that excessively.
Please help out, before I go nuts, I can't get this out of my head now!! :)
