As I noticed to compare with last year it was no collectors at usual presentation of Christian Knoop. So, I will post few slides, hope it will be interesting to see. Historical background, studied options and versions of cases, straps, even displays and windows. And by the way it's good idea to explain the ideas behind updating of product line and the way choosen by IWC people.

Interesting, to me foremost the fonts for the numbers. The new font for the numbers on the dial is both clear and fluent, certainly when you compare it with the rather stiff font of the 5002, reinforced by the longer lines of the minute markers. I prefer the more natural view of the new watch. It is remarkable that the font of the numbers on the date wheel differs a bit, like the 5: the vertical line at the top left is purely vertical on the dial and slightly slanted on the date wheel. On the dial the 5 looks a bit more edgy, agressive because of this.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Roman, thanks for posting. I attended the presentation and there were a lot of Collectors. Probably Christian Held the presentation more than once.

The presentation gave a great insight into the design process.

Thank you so much for sharing this presentation Roman, I found this very interesting.

A quick question to all of you who attended SIHH, did anyone ever ask Christian the question of why they decided to not put a centre seconds hand on the 48/55mm Heritage?

Skule, it was said that they didn't want to make a replica of B-Uhr, but wanted to use it as a base for modern and fresh looking model.
But I believe it's also connected with the caliber they used for it.

    Thanks Roman!

A logical explanation I guess, but I still believe choosing another caliber with a centre second would have been a better decision IMHO;-)
