Interesting movement and a very nice watch!
The leather straps hand made by Sanotoni is a great touch too.
It is regrettable when someone on the Internet, specifically the website you mention, breaks the press embargo that all responsible journalists respect and which is done by all companies in the industry so that no one publication has an unfair advantage. In prior years, forum members also did not provide links to such publications out of respect for IWC's request.
I will report more on the watch when the embargo lifted.
I found this information on the IWC Facebook page so i thought that it is public. Sorry, i didnt know, that this isnt pubic information yet. Do you know when the embargo will be lifted?
Michael,
at the right time please give us some info about the movement!
There at least a couple of things I'm very curious about!
For what we can see by the small picture, the escapement looks very interesting, I'm also very curious to see below the central part of the movement hidden by those nicely striped bridges.
And then, the adoption of this new caliber means cal 98XXX "retires"? :)
And then... Oh, how many questions!
I understand-I haven't seen it on FB but perhaps it was removed from there. In all events, in fairness to the publication another journalist wrote me "just thought I'd let you know that we received the press release today, but it said nothing about an embargo date....Anyway, just wanted to point out that the websites themselves might not have been told about the embargo at all."
In all events the embargo ends very shortly. After all, SIHH will start next week.
Well, assuming the picture is accurate, and this thread has not been locked...all I can say is that this looks very interesting. The Portofino line is the only line not currently represented in my collection of IWC watches. This development looks very promising.
Uauhhh, this makes portofino line amazing!!!
I can't wait anymore for the news and more pictures.

yes, and according to other websites there are more new Portofino models. Especiall the GMT Version Portofino "Dual Time" sounds interesting.
Hi Michael!
Do you know if the new watches will be presented here (and were exactly?) or will we have to go on FB ?
I think this watch looks fantastic, right away. A classic beauty, without all kinds of fashionable frills. Really IWC, kind of modern retro: well done! I look forward to see the other models, and to learn about the movements used. The movement shown looks very exciting: hand-wound and thin. It almost seems that IWC listened to my predictions.
Kind regards,
