I was invited to the IWC Grand Prix event tonight, which was held in collaboration with Mercedes Benz to showcase the latest Ingenieur watches and AMG cars.

I arrived late to the event and didn't take any pictures of the cars at all, so sorry about this. But here are some pictures of the watches I saw and really liked...

The new 40mm Ingenieur... I absolutely adore it. It's an instant classic, IMHO. And, it would look great on women as well.

I must admit, that was the only Inge I liked. Here are the other watches that caught my attention...

The Portofino 8 Days Laureus 2014 and the Portuguese Yacht Club Laureus 2013!

I am absolutely bowled over by these blue incarnations of the watches. Really brilliant :)

Here is the Porto 8 days on my wrist with my own Porto Chrono Laureus...

There is no engraving on the Porto 8 Days as it is a glass case back.

Here is the Yacht Club Laureus on my wrist...

Also shown to us were the new Portuguese collection based on the IWC in-house movements...

I like this new line very much indeed. The cases are thicker than those based on the ETAs. Also, the crystals rise above the case, creating a domed look. Overall, the line looks very refined. However, an interesting characteristic is the date function for the watches. I'm sure many would welcome this feature.

I would like to express my grateful thanks to the Singaporean IWC team for hosting us.

HAWGE and thanks for looking :)

I would like to apologise for this post.

Mods, please delete as you deem fit. I didn't realise that these watches were not announced yet. It was an honest mistake and I'm really sorry.

I guess that's the input we've been waiting for to start discussing of the new Portuguese line :)

My pick is the 8 days Portuguese handwound with date.

Moving the power reserve indicator to the obverse is a stroke of genius.

The dial looks cleaner and more balanced compared to the 8 days Portofino handwound.

so the news is finally out for the post-SIHH but pre-September novelties :)

great stuff Pauline. thanks for sharing.

one correction - the Portofino 8 days blue dial is not a Laureus edition I believe. corrections welcome.
