I am not saying that I am small, but this evening Andrew Thomas and myself were together in Brussels.
Andrew was so kind to bring me a little something out of Switzerland, my newly acquired Aquatimer 1812.
As you see we made the transfer in true Belgian style, in a nice pub with a good beer.
At the table you see two collectors, two AT 1812, a Jubilee ( not mine ) a Big Pilot and an Ingenieur ref 666.
This post is also a perfect example of the greatness of being a forum member. These spontanious meetings between collectors helping eachother makes it a good place to tune in from time to time ( or daily )
I wish Andrew good luck for tomorrows football tournament in Brussels. With the beers we drank, I do hope for him that there will not be a doping control...

More pics of the AT tomorrow

    Great you two got together,

Yesterday, after I picked up my new VC Portofino my wife and I stopped for a quick lunch and guess what? The beer I had was Duvel. Small world, eh?

It is always great to see fellow forum members live and up close.

    small collectors meeting

Belgium is besides the country of IWC collectors, also the country with over 200 small and bigger beer breweries. As Tonny is a connaiseur(you can easily see that), he knows what beer goes with what opportunty. The beer you see can be translated in English as "devil". It is famous for getting drunk instantly. Your body is not telling you when you should stop. Than there is the rule for every beer : the bigger you are the more you can drink. I wonder, looking to Andrew's size, where Tonny was after.... the 1812 or maybe the Jubilee?
    Proost,
    Adrian.

    It really was great fun

Tonny also took me to a special pub en route to the one in the photo which nearly "killed me". Those who know a very special (even odd) bar near La Grand Place in Brussels will figure it out right away. Anyway no devils in that place - but my favourite Leffe Blonde.

It really was a great pleasure to meet with Tonny and just a wonderful coincidence that I would be in Brussels and able to be an IWC courier at the same time.

My team finished 2nd after qualifying for the 2nd group phase in our mini Euro 2008 chamionship - which was a great day. In a team from Holland there were 4 IWC watches present which were all pilots: Mark XII, XV, VVI and a Spifire Mark XVI.

Great to see you again Tonny. Happy Days with the Aquatimer.

    Andrew
