The ones with shorter hands are fake...

You might find some more information in the archives about fake ingenieurs, but this is one of the signs of these (scary real lloking) fake Ingenieurs that are offered on the internet.

    The movie is real.

The video clip is in fact a real promotional iwc video.

You can find it on the iwc site. Go to collection, choose the ingenieur, then choose one of the watches (like the inge automatic) and click the little movie button on the left side of the watch.

Which watch is the one with the short hands? None of them appear short to me...

    Not necessarily a fake

It seems that the first prototypes of the Ingenieur were equipped with somewhat shorter hands as can be clearly seen in Watch International (April 2005) announcing the unveiling of the Inge. Apparently they were changed into longer hands when the model went into production, since the longer hands appear already in the 2005 catalogue. I am sure MF can help us on that. Btw, it seems the picture provide by AndySh is the one which appeared on the cover of the abovementioned issue of WI.

Thanks guys so it seams that short hands never made it in to production then.
