    Hi I just got a portugese 2nd hand. Is there supposed to be a spinning sound when you flick your wrist? I'm guessing that's the sound of the movement. Does anybody else hear this sound?

    The sound you hear is probably normal, but it's hard to diagnose things like this via the Internet.

    What model Portuguese did you get? A Chronograph or a Portuguese Automatic with the 7 day movement?

    I love that sound of all the automatic watches of IWC
    some aere better to hear (the AT 2000 is very loud)than others
    but rest assured nothing wrong with that!

    my 500114 Portugese Automatic, makes the same clickety-click sound as you move your wrist, making the motor spin.

    you are not alone in hearing this sound (if it indeed is this sound), and you are certainly not alone in being worried (others have too and posted on this forum).
