While waiting for my new Spitfire Chrono to arrive, a Spitfire Laureus has become available. Don't know much about this version. Can anyone offer any advice as to whether I should take the Laureus? I really like the silver dial on the regular Spitfire but have never seen the Laureus in person - only pictures. What do you guys think?

The Laureus is a fine watch.

Both are fine examples of the spitfire line so you should select the one that turns you on. The Laureus is beautiful and very hard to capture in photographs. The dark blue, almost luminescent dial is spectacular.

    Good luck with your decision,

    Bill

The Laureus is a fine watch.

    I second that!
It's like a chameleon the way it changes color depending on the light angle.
But as Bill said, you much chose what clicks for you.

Both watches are beautiful so it'll be hard to go wrong.

    Cheers,
    Evan

I would choose the Laureus at lightning speed >

the blue dial makes it one of the most beautiful IWC produced to date.

    Cheers from Isobars.

    I have the Spitfire Chrono..

with silver dial & stainless steel bracelet. It is absolutely striking. So, much so that I've had numerous conversations where people stop dead in mid-sentence, loose track of what they were saying, to comment on my watch. It's almost emabarrasing. And, you can where it every day.

I have the Laureus. I wasn't thrilled entirely with the strap though and bought the bracelet. I now LOVE my watch and look forward to weekends and dress down Fridays when it gets the most wear. Rest of the week it is usually the 40mm Inge.
