Spitfire Ref 3878 - Ok on a black leather strap?

As much as I love the original brown leather strap it does give the watch a very strong personality that rarely goes unnoticed. Has anyone fitted a genuine IWC black leather strap to a Spitfire 3878? Does it still blend nicely with the ardoise dial? Any feedback or photos would be helpful.

Here is a picture of my 3878 on a black alligator strap. I hope you can get an idea of the color combination, although I find the rivets do not make the watch any quieter on the wrist... :-)

Is that an IWC strap? Or after market? Would love to dress my 3878 like that

That is an aftermarket strap. IWC does not have such a strap for the 21mm lug width of the 3878, the straps for the Big Pilot or the doublechrono measure 22mm.

I ordered this one from the german manufacturer Kaufmann, completely made to measure for my rather small wrist (17 cm circumference). While the strap itself is very good, the rivets do not match the quality of the IWC original. IWC rivets have a sunburst pattern, those from Kaufmann are just matte. But over all its a nice combo.
