The CF3 is a Spitfire, a good reason for a short review:

In aprox. 2000, IWC launched a limited edition (1000 pieces) Mark XV SPITFIRE.
The dial design is similar to IWC´s first special pilots´s watch - the Mark IX.
This first SPITFIRE was never shown in calalogs and was only available in GB.

The set was delivered with a special leather strap, an engraved case back, a huge scarf, a special huge box, a special certificate and a special catalog.

Really a very special and nice set.

Because I have this first version of a SPITFIRE, I have no need to go for the CF3 :-)

But, if there will be a similar set .......

    Regards

    HEBE

I read this 3 times in a row without a pause. It was a thrill reading the details. And that's some handsome packaging !

    Lest we forget.
Perhaps there should also be a 'Hurricane' version to be factually correct about the Battle of Britain.

Thank you guys for all the information and lovely pictures.

I believe there are a few more forum members who have one of these early Spitfires.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

Thanks for that. It looks great but 38mm seems quite small these days.

This is a nice idea. I would not say "no" to a Hurricane companion for my Spitfire.

Oh, this is a very nice thread. The old Spitfires didn't get that much space lately. Glad that you pulled them out, gentlemen.
