    MF:

Need your help. I want to purchase a Bergeon Springbar Tool for changing leather straps. From your comments in the archives, this brand is considered superior and the industry standard. My IWC's deserve the best !!

Not sure if I need the Fine or Standard tip model (6767). Your input in various postings indicated that the thinner/fine tip works best with less chance of scrathing but the larger/standard tip provided better leverage. I will be changing straps on MARK and PORTO's to start.

What would be your recommendation between the two for someone who has a fairly steady hand and decent eyesight ?

    I value your experience.

    Thanks,

    Andy

Andy --get the fine tip. It's often difficult to get the tip between the strap side and the lug edg --that can be a tight fit. That's more needed than the leverage, since both have sufficient leverage.

I think there's not that much practical difference between Bergeron and other brands except in their fine tip models, which are both thinner and stronger.

I appreciate your help, but for the future we should avoid commercial links. Thanks.
