    Hello,

I've owned a Portuguese Chronograph ref 371445 for about 6 months now. I love the watch, the only thing that bothers me is the clasp strap. I have the black standard one it comes with, but it fits me really awkwardly. The hole I wear it on is too lose, but the next one is too tight, primarily from the shape of my wrist being in contact with the metal clasp. Any suggestions for getting this to be more comfortable? Do they sell replacement straps in different sizes that might fit me better?

Also what are your thoughts at having a brown strap on this watch? (I love wearing it but am slightly OCD so I don't like wearing it when it doesn't go with my belt and shoes and I wear brown much more frequently)

    Thanks for your help/feedback

    Hi,

I don't have a Portuguese but when trying them on at my AD, I too have sometimes not been entirely comfortable with that clasp. I think it's possible to get original IWC straps with buckle instead which may solve your problem. There is also usually one longer and one shorter strap size available in addition to the standard one. If none of IWC's options fit, I'm sure there are good aftermarket straps that will.

As for a brown strap, IMO your watch will look great on one of those as well. I quickly googled "portuguese 3714 brown strap" and got lots of photos, if you want a preview.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree the brown strap will look very nice. Unfortunately I live in Richmond, VA and the closest AD appears to be in Washington DC. I guess I will have to wait until I'm up in NYC later this fall to visit the boutique. Have no plans to go to DC, the drive from Richmond can be brutal with the traffic.

Since you don't live close to an AD, you may want to call ahead to find out about options, prices and what they have in stock. I've not been to one of the boutiques but the ADs I've visited typically will need to order anything outside the most common stuff.
