    Hi everyone

I was at the AD today and was about to purchase a portuguese chronograph with deployment. My problem now is that it is a little too big for my wrist.
Options from the AD was to order a short strap (which will take at least 2 weeks, I can't wait, and I don't want to pay extra and be stuck with a standard length strap) I also noticed that the strap with deployment buckle was different from the ones with the tang buckle. (shorter short length and longer long length for the one with deployment. The other option he was saying was punch another hole in. (is this good? watch is for keeps forever)

    My questions are.
    1. Can I order aftermarket straps and fit it with the deployment buckle? Will it be comfortable to wear? Since the AD was saying it might be off center?
    2. How hard is it to change the strap?
    3. Any suggestions on what I should do?

    I only have a 6" wrist size.

    Thanks for any input.

Be patient and have your AD order the correct IWC strap. It will cost you something extra, but it's already an expensive watch. And it's a fine watch, so it's best to do things right.

Your other options will also take some time and involve some expense. And they will produce a less satisfactory result than taking the time and spending the money to get the correct IWC strap that you really need.

Frank....You don't happen to shoot skeet as well as collect IWC's do you?

    HHH818:

Please go back to your AD and discuss his options further. My experience with an AD is that if you require a XS ( or XL ) length strap when purchasing a new watch, they will exchange it (no extra charge) for the standard length. Yes...you may have to wait a bit, but getting the right fit without modifying a incorrect size is what you want here.

I too need a XS length strap and have never had to spend additional to get the proper fit at the time of sale.

    Good Luck,

    Andy

Thanks for the info. I got the watch anyway. I think the dealer that I went to was a little on top of their head because they are the only AD for IWC here. They punched in a hole that doesn't bother me at all and the watch fits perfectly now. I guess I'll just have to order short straps when I plan to change colors.

As and when you get a short strap you will find the watch fits far more comfortably on the wrist, the standard length strap was on the second tightest hole for my Portuguese 7 day Auto.
No one has posted photos yet of the new Portuguese Chrono with the folding buckle so we would like photos please.
