I am a new member after splashing some hard cash for the Galapagos Aquatimer. Although initially intended for my weekend watch I am starting to missed it during the 5 days. I work in a corporate office environment and my question is how many of us here straps a true blue rubber band diver watch to office vis-a-vis appropriateness of such a watch with office attire.

Hi, you can wear an IWC anywhere and anytime! An IWC is an expression of great style paired with mechanical perfection. Why should it then not be suited for an office?
I am a Managing Director of an IT company and am wearing my AT Vintage quite often at work.
It is not about the color or the rubber band.
Congratulations to your great acquisition. I am sure it is not going to be your last IWC
I would wear that watch anywhere. It looks great.
While I love that watch, if you work in an environment where you wear s suit, white shirt and tie I would prefer more of a dress watch. In a non-tie or sportcoat environment, or business casual, I think this watch would be passable. Much depends on your job and industry.
Someone once told me "dress for the job you want, not the job you have". If you want to look like a future CEO and aren't in the entertainment or software industry, I think dress watches look, well, dressier.

The AT is a great watch - a cool looker too, but in the office environment with collar and tie - I too prefer something dressier!

Yes at the office picnic. No in the office boardroom. It's a great IWC for less formal occasions.
On days where I am wearing shirts and jeans, I wear my Top Gun Double Chrono 3799 and my new Aquatimer 3568 (on bracelet) , on days where I am in a suit, it is the Portuguese 5001 or the Mark XI - the TG and the Aquatimer I find too bulky to wear with a suit and I usually wear my sleeves rolled up when wearing a shirt with jeans / pants.
That said, if the Aquatimer is your only IWC at present, wear it on all occasions with pride!

I wear my 3568 Aquatimers for work in a suit/tie, but then again, I also wear my other somewhat colorful dive watches as well, so anything goes for me!
I would agree with the others that if you have the option of a dressier piece, it might go better with the environment you work in, but if the Aquatimer is your only piece, I don't see a problem wearing it for any occasion.
Wise words from Michael. Since you said that it was your weekend watch, I assume that you have other watches that you are already wearing to work. As tempting as it is to wear the AT to work, which is great watch, it'd look out of place in a corporate office environment.
Unless you're CFO or CEO, then well, that's a different story. Haha.

It was heartening to have comments from fellow IWCians pouring in.
I think I will gradually make it my watch for works days as I don't wear a suit, except on occasional days a tie. It's mostly short sleeved shirt (i am in the tropics)which makes the watch highly viewable. Oh yes, the boss wears some fancy rose gold AP Royal Oak with rubber. Very tacky to me...
The blue dialled Vintage Engineer is really nice, maybe next time.

I wear my AT Cousteau Chrono 2010 ref. 376706 on bracelet for office work (family medicine), but rarely wear suit and tie there. I find this watch border-line with suit. Among my IWC-s m Fliegerchrono ref. 3706 on croco strap fits fine with a suit but that's it. A black rubber watch - well, is out of place when wearing a suit, even there is IWC on the dial.
