    Hello everyone,

I currently do not own any IWC watches, but definitely pondering getting one in the next few months. That said, I have a few (what I would call) quality watches; one says 'Swiss Made' and the other says 'L-Swiss Made-L'.

Can anyone tell me what the 'L-' means, and if this is something I should be looking for in my new IWC watch?

    Thanks,
    Mat

It indicates the hands and markers are coated with Lumanova. T Swiss T means they are coated in tritium.

Awesome! That sounds like it makes sense as my watch that does not have the 'L-' mention has not luminescent dials, and the ones that has the mention does have it (although it is not that bright...)

    Thanks!

I should have asked - is the Tritium the 'gas' markers I've heard about?

As far as I know IWC has not utilized the encapsulated tritium chambers. IWC stopped using tritium some years ago for safety reasons.
