Dear Friends - I'm sure most of you know that clapping/touching/rummaging of all your pockets for your wallet, phone, lighter, keys etc. which becomes more and more frantic as you are unable to locate the item where you thought you had placed it?
And then the cramped feeling in your belly as you realize that whatever you thought you had in your pocket is no longer there?
Well, it happened to me on Saturday. I just about never loose anything but after having been out walking the dog for 1,5 hours, in the snow, wading thru 40 cm of that white stuff across a couple of fields just so the dog could run around and play - the house keys were gone when I returned home.
The prospect of changing the lock to our front door just beacuse I had lost a set of keys wasn't very tempting so I immediately headed back out to see if I could find them. I redid almost the entire track but to no avail. Sunday afternoon it was a little warmer so I hoped a little snow had melted, making it easier to spot something which had fallen out. The dog and I headed out again. Paying extra attention to the places I knew I had bent over to make a snowball to throw to the dog - I started kicking the snow around a bit at each of these spots. Suddenly the dog pitched in, and lo and behold my keys suddenly appeared - jippeeee!!
Upon returning home I realized that my two keys (to the house and to the bike lock) and the small pewter key chain was just not all that visible in any condition, and small enough so that it could fall out un-noticed - as was now quite apparent :-)
After some thinking SIHH and IWC solved my problem - I now have the worlds coolest key chain - and it will be very visible if I ever loose it in the snow, in the grass, in the mountains etc.
