There have been a lot of posts lately about perpetuals. But let's not forget this one. Since this begins my last week in Chicago (for a while)I took a few shots while enjoying the best hot dogs in the states. Please note the full "Chicago Dog" treatment. One of my favorites, watch and lunch that is.
And don't forget the titanium bracelet. In my opinion, one of the best looking most comfortable available.

I just ate lunch and you got my mouth watering...both for the hot dog (the likes of which you cannot get down here) and the GST!

Agreed. It is also perhaps the most affordable perpetual calendar.

To my very humble opinion, it's a great watch, proportionate, innovative, light, essential, despite the abundance of information; it could be the watch of a lifetime.

I take the pictures with the hot dog, not as an invitation to interpet it as the "poor brother" of your splendid collection (not that this was your intention, it came naturally to my mind to associate hot dog and watch this way) but as it's the perfect companion for a maybe fast but very enjoyable meal.

Sometimes happiness is all about that :)

You are right, that is a work-horse perpetual that will last "forever". Everything seems to be right it.
I'll have a rain check on the hot dog, though. :-)

I have had some unbelievably great meals of all types here in Chicago. Ask MF, the food rivals just about anywhere in the states. But the hot dogs, Chicago style, are a fast food culinary delight not to be missed.
And yes, the GST Perpetual is a very special watch. Don't forget that it also sports a chrono function. Lots of bang for the buck.

Wow, impressive Hot Dog and a beautiful watch. What do they put on the Hot Dog? Looks like green pepper, tomatoes, onions, a big pickle? I don't even see the meat any more! What kind of sauce?

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

PS: another great post with food I read in the last ten minutes. If I find anoter one, I am going to loot the fridge :-)

Vienna beef dog, poppy seed bun, mustard, green relish, sliced tomatoes, chopped raw onions, hot whole small green Sport peppers, celery salt, sliced long pickle spear (mild, not sour or spicy). Ummmm, good.

That's right, to top it all there is a chronograph. I think I'm gonna get me one of these someday.
Hummm! Fast food? Speed does not improve the quality of anything worth having, and food is definitely not one of them. I prefer slow food. :-)

Thanks for the list of ingredients Alan, I think I'll try to make one myself (or at least try!).

As for "fast food": I noticed that your pic with the Hot Dog was taken at 11:58 and the picture after lunch was about 13:00. Doesn't sound like really fast to me ;-)

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

Keen eye, I was already home after a 7 block walk...I needed a few more pics so MF would not send it into purgatory.

    Portillo's???!!!

My favorite "on the way home from the airport" meal. Man, I miss Chicago.

Here in "Scarlet and Gray-ville" we have no IWC dealers within hours, no deep dish pizza, and no Italian Beef.

I'm sure looking forward to handling some nice IWC's at the upcoming Jeff Kingston dinner in Philadelphia. Maybe we'll get to see MF's new one in the metal?

For anyone not understanding the "scarlet and gray-ville" comment, those are the colors for Ohio State (University). Columbus has no professional football, baseball, or basketball teams, so it is mostly all Ohio State, all the time.

Absolutely. So when you are in Philly maybe we can tempt you with some cheesesteaks? LOL!!

Alan. I just love that watch. I got my steel/saumon one back in a time when my fondness for Ti was not there. Over the last few years I have come to recognize and appreciate the beauty of the Ti model. I know "WTTB posts" are off limits....but....I want to trade up.

By the way, I can't quite put my finger on it - but there's something strange about your lunch wearing your watch....
