    Dear Community,

beginning of the month I had the pleasure to be for business reasons in Zürich and obviously took half a day to visit IWC in Schaffhausen.

But firstly, allow me to apologize that for about two weeks I did not share this pleasure with you.

So, being at a very boring 3 days Telco Conference in Zürich - you know, one of these conferences in which you are slammed with contentless slides - the second day, after the lunch break, I decided to follow the pleasures of life instead of listening to boring business stuff, jumped into my car and drove to Schaffhausen.

I had informed Oliver Siegle, IWC Community Manager of my visit, and he was so kind to agree to meet me.

For the whole 40 min drive I was really excited of finally getting for my first time to Schaffhausen.
Arrived there, I was so pleased to see that great building. Here is the pic of what was in front of me:

I was that much in hurry of getting into the building, that I did not take care of any parking prohibitions, and parked directly in front of the IWC building.
Jumped out of the car, I saw the F.A. Jones street sign, and needed to take a picture of it. Fortunately enough, there was a pedestrian just crossing my way, and he was so kind enough to take the following picture:

I went into the IWC building, and was welcomed by a nice receptionist, who informed Oliver of my arrival. Well, I could not stand still waiting for him, so I went straight into the museum. The collection of great IWCs there is awesome.
Just two minutes later Oliver arrived, and welcomed me with an immense friendliness. In our discussion he was really radiating his passion for IWC.
He offered me to take me firstly upstairs to have a look at the built and assembly in the glass cubicles. It was great to see those people there dealing on a day to day basis with such great components, put together forming great timepieces.
Following that, we took a museum tour and had a chat on nearly every single timepiece being exposed there at the museum.

After nearly two hours I was so energized and I felt like my immense passion for IWCs had grown many times during that time. And I had noticed that I forgot to take further pictures (sorry for that).

During my drive back to Zürich and still for a couple of days thereafter I felt like being on a trip of pleasure and joy.

@Oliver, thanks for presenting me with that great pleasure. It was really awesome. And thanks so much for being available at such short notice.

Btw, even the police is very friendly in Schaffhausen. As I wrote at the beginning I had parked in a restricted area. While chatting with Oliver, the receptionist came in, asking me if the baby-blue Porsche was mine, as the police had asked her if it was belonging to an IWC visitor.
I ran to the car, and knowing the Swiss police I was expecting to get a heavy ticket ... but NO! The police men informed me in a very friendly way, that I am not allowed to park there, and that a few meters further down the street, there is a free parking slot. I was really perplexed of such a friendliness of a Swiss police men. Are they IWC employees?:-)
Now, you might ask yourself about the baby-blue Porsche. Well, here is a picture of it. No, it is not my car. It was a rental car I got, as my Porsche was being serviced. And I was astonished about the color.

If you haven't been yet to IWC - get there. It is worth every kilometer of travel.

    @Oliver: THANKS AGAIN SO MUCH

One of life's pleasures is visiting the IWC factory. I have been seven or eight times. On each visit I learn something new. Visiting with the friendly IWC employees is a bonus.

I want to go next summer. I went twice to Schaffhausen but just to see the waterfall on the way. Next year will be a good opportunity, I hope. Sleeping five days in Höchenschwand in the Black Forest the trip to Schaffhausen takes only a half hour. Kindest regards. Juan
