    all of them.
There's innovation with the new Yacht Club models and the retrograde date.
    And there's lots of beauty.
The only BUT to me is from a technical point of view the Grande Complication with the ETA based movement. The subdial circle in the dial looks too small to me. There's a perpetual calendar for the Portuguese and a minute repeater at IWC for the 5xxxx movments. Why not use these? Maybe both together would have been too thick and without chrono function.
This watch is a great idea but for me as a technically interested guy not really perfect. On the other hand this is a watch that's definitely not made for my budget. So I can keep very calm about this.

The novelties altogether look really amazing and I have not yet really managed to digest them all.

    Agreed. They are.

The refreshed, contemporary Grand Comp looks fabulous. There's far too much happening in that watch to permit the use a 5000 movement.

The larger dials on the PPC is a significant improvement for collectors with fading eyesight.

The handwound Portuguese enables the fans of the Jubilee to have something similar. However, I am not too enthusiastic about the contrasting seconds subdial.

The new Sportuguese chrono in red gold looks fantastic.

But again, nothing for the smaller wrists,

But again, nothing for the smaller wrists, for me that's a disappointment, the portuguese chronograph is a big seller but it would have been nice to see a new version of the watch with a inhouse movement or a smaller protuguese automatic with the base movement of the inhouse chronograph. Do people really like 45 mm watches?

    This is IWC

I am so happy with the new designs I don't have the strength to get into the technical details I cannot stop admiring these aesthetically balanced designs.
    The sun has risen.
So very happy I think I ll never get the BP but who cares because my next watch will be the MBFPPC the Midnight Blue Faced PPC.
Next time I see Michael I ll give him a big kiss for making this preview possible for all of us

Have a look at the detail for the Port Auto ...

... it has a 42mm case to flatter the slimmer wrist. They've clearly taken notice of what you've said.

Many people like the big ones

Otherwise IWC wouldn't sell them so well and in turn wouldn't create so many of them.
I like them too but have just some problems with the small movments inside except for the 5xxxx calibres.
I think for a 30mm diameter mvmt 42 mm watch diameter is enough if you look from the back. But normally people look from the front side at their watch. And it really sells like it seems.
When the BP first came out in 2002 many people stated it makes no sense to have a 46mm watch. Today 44 to 46 mm is the standard for most of the models. That's how majority taste can change.

    Oh yes!!

The Tourbillon Retro is so desireable and at last we can see an investment in the Port series. I got the feeling the AT Ing and BP series were the future and the port series were on the back burner. All nice and evry type could find a home here in one variant or another and it would not be a hard decision at all. The only hard bit is finding the funds. Oh well, its a a nice update to the collection and very much my preferred taste from IWC. Well kept secret and congratulations to those involved from design, bean counters through to production. Gets my vote.

    When another magazine...

"previewed" the alleged 2010 novelties, I saw some concern expressed about the design elements on the deservedly beloved Portuguese line. I think most here had faith in IWC to come up with tasteful, well-balanced Portuguese that were true to the heritage, but new designs nonetheless. That is exactly what I saw in our preview and it is laughable that the "pre-preview" images from the other publication had any veracity. IWC has a beautiful offering this year. The blue dialed PPC is a stunner to me!

    Best regards,
    Jim

They look great! While I fear most will be

beyond my budget, like so many others here I sure like the blue Perpetual. I'd like it even better with the single moon design.

I find myself wondering if the manual Portuguese is destined to appear in additional dial color combinations.
