As forummers may be aware, I've been looking for my 'first' acquisition of an IWC watch and tossing between the 5009 BP or the 5019 Top Gun BP.

It was a very difficult decision to make between the 5009 and the 5019. Both watches weighed the same and I think, for me, the biggest selling points were the black ceramic case and the red 'jet' on the second hand.

After a lot of helpful comments and tips from forummers, some reasoning and a lot of negotiating with the AD, I managed to acquire my new acquisition - a Top Gun BP 5019.

Here are some photos of the new watch - I haven't taken off the protective plastic sticker off the face yet:

I still love the classic look of the BP - not sure if I made the right decision in choosing the 5019 over the 5009... Maybe if I get the 5009...

NO REGRETS. You made a great choice ! Love the "Red Jet" ... a teriffic touch.
Enjoy your first IWC, but not your last by any means, you'll see.

    Cheers,

Congratulations! I've been bitten by the BP bug recently and have been looking at the very 2 variants.

You certainly can't go wrong with either one of them!

    Wear it in good health!

Congratulations! I am thinking of maybe getting a BP next and I am tossing up between the exact same 2. Nice to see you made a decision. Good on you. I love the ceramic look.

Well done. Advantage of the 5019 is it will look as good 10 years from now as it does today so jump in and take off the plastic so we can enjoy what lies beneath.

Congratulations, that's a great watch! I had the 500401 for a few years and enjoyed it tremendously. It had to leave to help fund my grail watch (Portuguese Perpetual Pisa).

Enjoy your beauty and wear it in good health.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

Tough call - but a good choice!

Absolutely understand the "want to keep it new" but that's a great watch and that ceramic is tough like nails - so as long as you don't drop it, that watch is going to look pristine in 20 years from now too!

Great choice - wear it in good health.

Congratulation on your new BP. It has a stealth look that is amazing.

Enjoy wearing it and may be you could post a lume shot of it soon.

    Thank you all!

I agree with Fleekk that it is very stealthy looking and not what you would expect. It is a sporty looking watch (because of the nylon straps), but I believe it can still look pretty good in a suit. I wore it to a work/ client meeting once and the client had a double take when I showed him the watch.

Another reason why I chose the 5019 Top Gun BP was that I could always get the classic BP as a father and son/daughter model. It wasn't an easy choice as both were begging to take the pride of place on my wrist, but my wallet was 'keeping it real' :)

All that is said and done, I'm really happy with my 5019.
