I created these two mockups a while back as a something I wished IWC would
    consider releasing.

The first is a no-date version of the Portugieser Automatic (IW500705). I own
the original IWC 2000 (IW5000) and just love the purity of the no-date design.
My understanding is that Gunter Blumlein loved the no-date version of this as
well. I'd love to see a modern no-date version of this classic.

The second, is a no-date version of Portugieser Chronograph Classic (IW390302)
    - I love this as a modern interpretation of the classic, and nice middle
between the more minimalistic manual models and more complicated contemporary
pieces like the Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph. I especially like the blue
numerals model, but have always thought that the date window and its position
kind of takes away from otherwise perfect contemporary watch.

I love where IWC has taken the Big Pilot line - offering cleaner no-date
models, and hope that something like my mockups could be possible one day, I
for sure will be the first to buy both, and hope I wouldn't be the only one.
Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this...

    Hi Alexirt,

Since you have a somewhat similar watch face, as your profile picture, as my
watch had I want to ask you a question.

Your watch is ofcourse a lot nicer since it is a Portugieser.

I have an old IWC as you can see in the first picture. However it was
¨serviced¨ by some, let's say, less capable person.

My second photo shows another watch who's face looks like exactely like my
    watch's before it was serviced.

Do you know of anyone that might be able to service my watch so that it looks
    the way it should.

    Best regards

Hi Gadgetmant, I'm not an expert on service or restauration, but I think that
the official IWC service center might be a good option to look into.

I really like the clean look of your Portugieser Automatic without date.

But I'm not sure about the Chronograph Classic. In my opinion the date window
works as a balance to the IWC-lettering and without the date it seems a bit
uneven to me. Maybe the "IWC Schaffhausen" can be put into the subdial at 6
o'clock? Like with the Portugieser Perpetual Calendar with the
    doublemoonphase?

    Hi Philipp,

Great point. I looked at the various Portugieser models, and it seems like the
IWC label inside the 6 subdial is typically used in more complicated models.
With that said, the model name (e.g Yacht Club or Regulateur) is often used to
balance the IWC mark. I created a v2 of my rendering with this idea... LMK
    what you think :)

    Hi Alexirt

Well done, I like the balance very much!

And good point about the "IWC" inside the 6-o'clock subdial. Perhaps
"Chronograph Classic" in two lines, like "Chronograph Automatic" (which is
    actually
written on the IW3714 and IW3716) would even look better?
