Firstly, as I hope you may of had a chance to read about the purchase of my 1st IWC watch this weekend. It is a S/S Da Vinci model no.3758 03

My question refers to the movement of the rotor. Please forgive me if I haven't named it correctly, but I hope that you know what I mean??
I have never had a watch before were by you can hear and feel the rotor moving is this normal? As its causing me a bit of concern, because I keep thinking that there is something loose inside!!

Secondly, how can I enclose photographs of the actual watch. That I have taken and are sitting in a folder on my computer?

I would be most grateful for everybodies input on these matters.

    Two questions

I hasten to add that, the watch has been sat on display for approximately a year prior to me purchasing it.
Would this of affected the watch, such as the lubricants drying up?
    Many thanks

    Your questions

As MF has pointed out it is difficult to diagnose service issues on the Forum. We cannot see or hear what your are experiencing. If you are concerned take it to your AD's watchmaker for advice and service is necessary.

Having said that the noise you are hearing is most likely the normal sound of the rotor winding. There should be nothing to worry about. You may both hear and feel the wobble effect as the rotor oscillates.

As to your lubrication question, it should not be a problem unless it was stored under very difficult circumstances e.g. excessive heat. If the watch its keeping time within specifications and is running properly there should be nothing to be concerned about. But like the noise issue, it really cannot be addressed on this forum easily.

If you are still paranoid, take it to your AD.

Enjoy your acquisition and don't worry so much.

    Your questions

I'm also in no position to diagnose any service issues from remote. Just my two cents:
I'm wearing my DaVinci since almost 3 years. I'm hearing the same noise and feel this wobbling. In my opinion is this pretty normal and nothing to worry about.

    Enjoy this great watch !

    Your questions

    Thank you for your reassurance.
IMO I'm not being paranoid, its just that I have not heard or felt a rotor moving about before.
And when you spend that sort of money on a watch, you what to make sure that all is ok.
But all the same I shall take your advice and contact my AD.

    Your questions

if the noise is a whirring noise that eventually slows down followed by a few fast clicks this is just the automatic winding system.
nothing to worry yourself over - in fact just the opposite. it's part of the attraction of the watch!
