I was just spontaneously checking the beat rate/error of the cal 51610 in my
16+ year old Portuguese Perpetual II Ref 5022 and not at all surprising it's
gaining just 1.1 or 1.3 sec/day (not entirely sure how to read this)....

A little followup. I switched watches and wearing the 5441 with the manual
wind Cal 9828 which has a balance lift angle of 40.0 degrees and 18,000 bph. I
graphed this is a side/crown-up position - about 13 seconds fast per day.

Good question. The "hiccups" on the graph are external noises that my iPhone
microphone picks up like our pet birds chirping, or dog, or my teenager
slamming a door.
there is a setting for sensitivity- but it also averages-out these off-beat
sounds if you let it run long enough.
