As part of the wonderful new IWC vintage edition I found this one too hard to resist...

They really did not make this easy on me, wither the Ingenieur or the Aquatimer as I am both an engineer and a diver....:-)

I decided in the end that work is no everyhing so now I'll just wait for my next dive trip to get this one in the water where it belongs.

    Many congratulations and a question

Are the crowns aligned ? The original Aquatimer Ref (1)812AD has two crowns that are not aligned. Also - is the top crown used for the bezel or the time and date functions ? Also is the bezel bi-directional or unidirectional.

The watch is very good looking and keep posting images since you are the first to post and I am sure many of us would like to see some more images, wristshots and also lume shots too. Are you in Asia ?

    Kind regards, Andrew

    Many congratulations and a question

Thanks a lot! I am truly enjoying my new addi(c)tion...

    As to your questions:

No, the crows are not aligned w/ the 10 and 20 minute marker.
The top crown is used for the time function, the lower for the bezel. The bezel is unidirectional.

I took some additional shots (not that time is AM here in China).

    Here you go...

Also added a comparison lume shot. The lume on this one lasts long, similar to my PAM111.

    Some very interesting differences

since both crowns are "fish" and also the top crown is for the bezel in the original.

Thanks for the excellent additional shots - i look forward to seeing it again in the real life soon.
