Is it reasonable to expect an vintage Ing (666, 866 range) to have any level of water resistance? I'm not looking to swim or shower with it, but I'm conscious that my Mk 11 has to be treated very carefully for it not to fog up - splashes from light hand washing can send it to the airing cupboard. Would it be unrealistic to expect more water resistance from an old ing (assuming it gets serviced at IWC)?

I appreciate it's a difficult one to give an quantitative answer to, but any experience from owners would be welcome.

    Thanks in advance,

    HG.

    Vintage Ing - water resistance

The spec. was, water resistant to 10 atm and amagnetic to 80,000 A/m.

If it has an IWC service, it fulfills this specification. I have no doubt about it.

That may not be entirely correct...

My Ref 866AD just arrived from Schfaffhausen from a complete ovehaul without a guarantee of full water resistance. I do not know if this was just for this particular watch of if it is the case for all 666 and 866 Ings.
