I have taken a number of close up shots of my new Vintage Portofino Hand Wound, but they are in post processing, which I find a bit of a challenge.
But since I am so extremely happy with this new addition to my collection, I am rushing to post the obligatory wrist shot. Surprisingly for a 46 mm watch, this one is extremely comfortable. Weighing in at only 85 g, it is light compared to my Inge and Doppel Chrono. I have a 7.5 inch fairly flat wrist and the Portofino sits perfectly. As others have commented the hands are a bit difficult to see in certain lighting situations, but the Breguet hands are beautiful. The silver moon disk is very legible as are the stars in the background.
I am spending almost an equal amount of time looking at the display back as the dial itself. The hound wound movement is beautifully decorated. Even with the 3/4 pate, you get a spectacular view of the balance wheel and parts of the running train. The large index and balance cock are a major feature.
I haven't set the moon-phase yet. Fortunately, I can use my PPC to know the phase for the next 500 some years with no problem. : ).
If your AD has received it, I highly recommend rushing in to try it on. This one will be a gigantic winner.
I will post more photos and a more detailed review once the pictures are out of Photoshopping.
A very happy collector,
Bill
