the time machine sprang into action ...
the invitation had suggested 'formal suit' as the dress code and the men were all given waistcoats (vests for some folk), something I would call a loose silk cravatte (hence no modern ties on view), top hats and walking canes to take us back to Boston in 1868 - shown in the complete outfit is Andreas Boesch, head of IWC in Singapore in a photo taken by Harry Tan - and a different kind of wristshot, showing me, alas, admiring the watch on my wrist rather tthan the watch, but to me at least a great photo by Tay Kok Choon.
I escaped the hat because my egg head was too big for even the largest size on offer and wore my own waistcoat since I had brought a pocket watch chained to it ... IWC even offered period dresses for the ladies willing and daring enough to try - quite a sight and it all worked its magic.
Fantastic event, more reports have been posted, by Su Jia Xian on the PuristS forum with many photos by Harry Tan:

Great stuff, on the wrists and in the pockets ...
