IWC Singapore invited friends and fans to a stylish and graceful dinner and presentation of the new watches for this anniversary year - with the focus obviously being on the six vintage models.

Zach Toh, moderator on the Horomundi forum, has posted a detailed report with many pictures, behind the link below.

I was caught wearing my two favourites pictured above ...

Many thanks indeed are due to IWC's team in Singapore - and to Zach for taking the pictures and posting his report.

    Cheers, Dirk

    A huge world

Thank you for making me remember that the world doesn't stop in Europe or the United States. It is wonderful to see such enthousiasm for these watches. The first wrist shot is right in the middle of the bulls eye (in Holland we say rose), as it shows my near-future darling in full action. My wife was very impressed too, also about all the pictures. Was there a tie theme, like all the men came without a tie and got a special one for the occasion? Or is the fashion a bit different in Singapore?

    Kind regards,
    Paul, wearing Saint Exupéry Chrono

the time machine sprang into action ...

the invitation had suggested 'formal suit' as the dress code and the men were all given waistcoats (vests for some folk), something I would call a loose silk cravatte (hence no modern ties on view), top hats and walking canes to take us back to Boston in 1868 - shown in the complete outfit is Andreas Boesch, head of IWC in Singapore in a photo taken by Harry Tan - and a different kind of wristshot, showing me, alas, admiring the watch on my wrist rather tthan the watch, but to me at least a great photo by Tay Kok Choon.

I escaped the hat because my egg head was too big for even the largest size on offer and wore my own waistcoat since I had brought a pocket watch chained to it ... IWC even offered period dresses for the ladies willing and daring enough to try - quite a sight and it all worked its magic.

Fantastic event, more reports have been posted, by Su Jia Xian on the PuristS forum with many photos by Harry Tan:

Great stuff, on the wrists and in the pockets ...

    Making the crossing through cosplay

Thanks to Dirk for posting the link to Zach Toh's report.

I must say that the IWC Singapore team went to great lengths to have guests make the crossing through costume play or "cosplay". It made the already-enjoyable evening even more wonderful.

Vintage collection-wise, all 6 models are beauties in their own right. Half of them speak to me, and I hope at least one will find its home on my wrist.

    Greetings from Singapore,
    Jeffrey Sim

    Thanks Dirk...

Great company, food, location and above all, the latest IWC collection to see and try on the wrist! The new Vintage collection look so much better in the metal than any of the stock photos I've seen so far. I really like these 6 models, especially the Portuguese and the Portofino. Many thanks to the IWC team in Singapore for organizing this spectacular event. :-)
