    Hi all,
Just a question to the experts here regarding the two-tone (white with grey subdial) IWC Portuguese Handwind. I am considering buying it for my first IWC (also eyeing off the 7-day Portuguese Laureus).
My understanding is that IW545405 was only made for 1 year (2010) and has now been discontinued?
Is that correct? And does anyone know why the watch was discontinued and also possibly how many pieces were made altogether by IWC?

    Many thanks

Yes, it was one year only, then discontinued. It was replaced by a virtually identical watch but with matching subdial.

IWC does not announce reasons why they discontinue specific watches, nor do they announce how many of a specific model were produced.

It is a great watch, though.

I like the grey contrast subdial a bit better than the non-contrast one recently released.
Just a bit puzzled why IWC would release a model only for 1 year without making it a limited edition series. Anyway...

Many thanks for your help with this inquiry. Definitely buying the watch now.
