    Completely agree

All you state I'd sign immediately, especially your statement: "So for me the ones I must have I do have or will have...or cannot afford."
Since I was able to get my 2 biggest watch wishes (dreams), I try not to dream of pieces I'll never be able to afford. Sometimes it works. ;-)
It's great to admire these pieces but I really cannot have them all. And I'm quite satisfied with that.

    A "complete" IWC collection?

    Does that ever exist? ;-)

The ones you mentioned are in without a doubt. But there's always an etc ... Did you notice? That's why the hunt is part of the game and always will be.

This is a discussion without a closing answer.

I am not a real "collector", just a fan. That's why I can live without the watches you mentioned. Fortunately - otherwise I wouldn't be able to sleep anymore...

    Great topic anyway.

Thinking better I would like a large list, but…

In accordance with my possibilities, being realistic, I can be happy just with two:

    Ref 5001 Portuguese ( I’ve got it)

Ref 5004 BP (I can afford one but I shouldn’t yet)

    Surprisingly, its growing on me.

As you know I have never really been a big Ti fan but the AMG does have a presence on the wrist . All I need is the car to go with it but do not feel like downgrading yet (LOL)

I am a serious drooler (LOL)

but in my collection my "Must Keep" is my simple 3717 Pilots Chrono.

Must Have - nothing to do with watches I am afraid. My only Must Have is Health and Happiness.

What are the "must have" IWC watches?

I consider myself to be a true enthusiast of IWC as I have purchaced and collected quite a few of thier beauties over the past few years.
Varying from 3706 to 3741 over to 3715 & more.
But I have learned to love one particular family member, the favorite child would be my description.
The Portuguese. They are the most beautiful and elegant watches they build & one can wear any of these to any occation.
Wether it be dining well, a ball, a sportive activity (as an observer naturally) or just shopping. The Portuguese will always fit.
I now am the proud owner of three:
Ref. 3714 Chrono Automatic in White gold
Ref. 5001 in steel & black dial and my favorite
Ref 5021 in rose gold with the black dial & double hemisphere moon, for me the truly most real IWC there is. Everything designed & made in the company from thier knowledge and not just modified.

What are the "must have" IWC watches?

There are four I consider essentials, of which I have two (Vintage 1969 Da Vinci Jubilee Edition, Portuguese Chrono-Automatic). The other two are the gold Portuguese with moon phase, perpetual calendar... and the Portofino.
