What kind of accuracy is normal for a brand new IWC spitfire chrono?
I ask this question because my 7 days old IWC spitfire chrono is 1 second a hour faster then the atomic clock. This is when I have the watch on my wrist. I think when it's laying down it's going slower, but I'm not sure how much. But yesterday I started at 17:00 and now at 07:30 it's now 7 seconds faster (it was 5 hours on my wrist).

Generally, IWC specification is -0 to +7 secs/day.

My Spitfire Chrono is not brand new, but has generally run +1 second per day. I continue to vacillate between buying a bracelet for it and keeping it, or just selling it to make room for the incoming CF3.

So if it`s 12 seconds a day that is no good?

Give it a few months to settle down. Note variances and if you are still gaining more than 6 seconds a day after 6 months or so, speak to your AD. Hand made mechanical stuff needs time to sort itself out.

Wow, after this weekend (wear it 4 hours a day), it's now 46 seconds slow.

So it needs to go to an IWC Service Centre with warranty card etc.

I would follow Rave's advice. Wear it for six months and see how it is then. It's no good worrying about a few seconds a day or even a minute until it's bedded itself in.
