What is the difference between IW356805 and IW356809? Why was the IW356805 discontinued? Thanks, R

As far as I know, the only difference is a small change to the internal components of the rotating bezel.

    Hi Leo,

By any chance do you know when that reference change became effective. Was the change due to any quality issues ? I have the 3568/white dial purchased around mid-2012 and was wondering if I might have the latest edition. It was delivered to the AD just a week or so b/4 I bought it.

    Thanks,

    Andy

    Hi Andy,
I think the '09' started in the 2011 range but can't be sure.
I have never seen any quality issues with the '05'. A well designed, robust watch.
I hadn't even realised there was a component change, before investigating this thread question, as we have never needed to replace any case components during service.

    Oops..
Just realised, through reading other forum posts, that the significant difference between the two, is the bracelet.
The '05' was initially supplied on a satin bracelet with polished central link elements. The '09' bracelet is all satin finished.

    Leo,

Thanks for sharing your servicing history on the 3568. It's a good feeling knowing that no quality issues were identified which was the basis for the reference number changes. Whichever reference mine is, it's like you say a robust, solid designed "vault", built for nuclear attack. LOL

Recently, another posting addressed concern about the refernce differences and I just made a current comment. As you will see, it also identified the bracelet change. Personally, and as always just a opinion, I like the all satinized version on the white dial. IMO, it tones down the focus on the shiny links of the bracelet and the eye stays centered on the real beauty of the depth and layout of the dial/bezel.

Again Leo...many thanks for the assist.

    Andy

Either model gives you a rock solid watch with a fantastic bracelet.

I went to Tourneau last week with my 3568-05 and had their staff work with me comparing the 05 with the 09. The only difference we identified was the smaller polished bracelet links. So Leo, your observation lines-up with my visit with the Tourneau staff. Thanks, Richard
