    ...losing my hair,
    Many years from now.
Will you still be sending me a valentine
    Birthday greetings bottle of wine.
If i'd been out till quarter to three
    Would you lock the door,
Will you still need me, will you still feed me, When i'm sixty-four.
    Lennon/McCartney

Yeah, well it is my birthday. I will eschew my usual incisive ‘horological’ comment (e.g.,“great photo!”, “gorgeous!”, ” beautiful watch!”, “welcome to the forum!”) I really wanted to use the event as a hallmark occasion to thank Michael and y’all for all that you contribute here. It is a joy for me to log in every day and participate with this knowledgeable group of collectors. I also value the friendships I have made here that have truly enriched my life. It is extraordinary to me that the bond that unites us is an appreciation for a watch company (and their beautiful products) founded in the Nineteenth Century in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, by an American looking for outsourcing opportunities.

The Devine Ms. D sends her regards to all of you she has had the pleasure to meet. She is taking me out this evening for (not to defy any stereotypes!) a dinner involving a large amount of Texas Prime Beef! I am wearing the CFDV for my birthday watch.

It has been a great pleasure to meet both you and the Devine Ms. D. Your observation that making lasting friendship among a group of collectors with similar interest is a wonderful part of being an IWC Collector's Forum member.

Happy Birthday and may you have many more healthy and prosperous ones.

    Happy Birthday,

When I saw your comments on Texas Beef I immediately felt I'm missing it...

Don't know where you live but my favourite Texas steakhouse is "Love and War in Texas" located in Plano. Have been there several times but unfortunately not lately...

    Greetings from cold Sweden!

    /Anders

    Anders,
I've eaten there, but I am about 346km South of that location in the Austin area. However, good steakhouses abound throughout the Lone Star!

    Happy Birthday, Jim!

Why settle for beef? Hold out for a "Texas Seven Course Meal". For those of you who never experienced Texas, that would be an armadillo and a six pack.

Might I suggest this little critter.....
