I saw a comment of a large AD on Facebook on the new Ingenieur 3239 Automatic 40 mm, that stated that the movement for this watch wasn't decided yet. I read on this IWC forum a few weeks ago that the movement was the trusted 30110, like in the Mark XVII. Has there been a change of plans here? The catalogue of this IWC site doesn't mention the movement, where on most other watches the movement is mentioned.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Thank you, Michael. Please, could you tell us a bit more about this movement? Like, beats per second and jewels. How is it called, do you have a picture of it? Maybe more important: how does it compare to the original ETA 2892 movement, is this Sellita built according to special IWC specifications, like the 30110, or is it related to the Sellita 200 or 300? How do we have to interpret the term "clone" in this context? What are the remarkable features, merits of this movement, is it especially ruggedised or accurate for the duty of a tool watch Ingenieur? Thank you for puting in some effort to introduce this movement to us, especially as it sits in a watch that is instantly liked by many already.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

That's interesting. Shing quoted a press release on November 30 that says cal. 30110. Afaik the 30110 is ETA. Or is it Sellita?

I think MF's response (Sellita 2892 clone) is explicit. Some press articles don't know their Sellita's from their ETAs!

Personally, I lament the absence of the rugged 80110 & 80111 cals in the automatics.

Shoot me --I need to retract my answer. It's cal. 30110, which is an ETA 2892 produced to IWC's standards. Sorry for an error.

Thank you, Michael, I feel relieved in a way: I am glad that such a proven good quality movement is used. Not that another movement wouldn't be good, but as stated before, the 30110 deserves to be built into an Ingenieur.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Paul, the Sellita is just an ETA clone, because the ETA patent time has run out.
It is an advantage, to be independent from the SWATCH group ?!

Hello everybody! I have been wearing my new Ingenieur Automatic ref. 323906 for a month now on my wrist, and I just love it! An additional question regarding the cal. 30110 movement: what is the shock resistance level of this movement?

Thanks in advance & kind regards,

    Marko
