Well, I could not really get it! maybe the fonts are a bit thicker in 5032?

Anyway, both of them are quite unique!

@Greg: I suppose blue dial PCs come only in white gold?

The 5032 has a deeper chamfer rim around the bezel inside the dial.

"what is with all these patek and lange perpetual calendars with leap year functions? does it really matter?"

    no need to answer:
well, I happen to find out IWC PC already could take the leap year into account through year display, even cooler!

As for the 5021 and 5032, if you put the two watches together very few people will notice a difference. Supposedly the blue dials are slightly different shades of color. But I can't see it. The real giveaway is the thickness of the inside ring around the dial. But you still have to have them side by side to see the difference.
Only Mark and KS seem to consistently spot all the differences.

Come on fellows, besides the hard to spot differences of the different bezel shape - the watches are miles apart !

One (the 5021) has a blueish dial, the other (the 5032's) has a blue dial!

But besides that there is one major (now define major) difference which is fool proof to spot, and on which no discussion can be entered (and no Clemens....it's not the buckle).

It is that the one has a silver plated Power Reserve Hand, and the other a blue'd Power Reserve Hand!

That's what I use Mark, but often it's not clear in the pictures. Same goes for the two hands in the month/running second hand if I am not mistaken.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

Nice thread of Portuguese Perpetuals. You can't go wrong with either 5021 or 5032, 5022 in my opinion.

This poor one is not a favorite, and does not get much time on the wrist...

Ardoise...I can see why that "poor one" is not a favorite and lacks wrist time. But I'm here to help. I think I'm not far from you. We could do a GTG at the AD. I'll be happy to babysit the PPC for you. Let's give it the attention it deserves....

I start every working week with this watch. If ever I feel doubt about it, that disappears very quickly for the rest of the day. It not only looks magnificent on the wrist, it also has a refined presence despite its size. Just put it on, and your day will be all right.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

@KevinJ: I have recently seen a anthracite Santoni strap on Portofino 8 days (blueish tone dial as well) in Istanbul boutique and I think it could very well work with 5032 too!

The 503203 is the best PC wristwatch in the market and that includes pricing and overall value/quality.

In this price point you get white gold case, a stunning midnight blue dial, an equally stunning display case back, 7 day power reserve, double moon phases, everlasting design and a watch that can be worn both with formal and casual attire.

For me, this is the best IWC has to offer right now. Large, elegant, romantic and a unique presence on the wrist. The white gold case/midnight blue dial/black alligator strap combination is unmatched. And all that to encapsulate the noblest of complications.

This is one of those rare examples where you actually get more than you pay for...

Roman, thank you for your helpful message.

I probably make the next investment for a 5032.
