The traffic and the number of posts on this forum seem to increase lately - so I guess the decision who will be invited to SIHH comes closer. Who will be there except for me? Alan? Bill? Nad? I guess there will be many exciting Ingenieurs waiting for us!

The dates for SIHH have always been a challenge for me because of my other travel commitments around this same time of the year.
I was able to manage 2010 & 2011 but missed last year and all earlier years that I have been invited to attend.
I've already started to think about ways to "make it happen" if I eventually receive the invitation!
Great Nad - it would be nice to meet you again! But please don't wear any watch I don't have, otherwise you know what happens LOL
I know that IWC hopes to invite many newcomers to SIHH in 2013, who have not been there previously. This always helps expand forum participants and avoids too narrow of a club. But I'm sure some "well-knowns" will be invited --this is way too early in planning, though.

Very nice approach, especially to mitigate the formation of an "in crowd". If I get an invite I will most definitely be there!
I have no chance of an invitation but being local am hoping to have the opportunity to get together with some of the forumers who will be there.

David, you have every chance of an invitation being local. Wrong assumption!
The main criteria are participation here and interest in IWC. Not attending before actually helps.
Dear collector friends, If you are lucky to get an invitation ; make sure that you can go. IWC offers the collector a unique opportunity to visit the SIHH and their booth. That is special because during this week, they see a big part of their dealers to present them the new collection and to take orders. So knowing that in fact they are extremely busy and that they make time for us, is a very nice gesture to the forum members.

That is a healthy approach to expand participation. Now if we just knew what that formula was........

There's no magic algorithm. Posts on the forum are important, as well as your interest in attending. We often assume that few guys from S'pore will want to travel that far, especially in Winter.
Michael, you know that with above statement you made my day, do you? Just that tiny little chance to be there with IWC and some of the collectors here who meanwhile became good "virtual" friends will carry me through my day today like being on a wave.

I have spent quite some time to find a way, how to visit SIHH 2012 until I have found out that only the invited shall pass. At first I did not understood that only later I have realized that it a different kind of a fair. Nevertheless I would still be very interested in visiting such an event. It would a pleasure to see some technical marvels from very close. Not to mention that meeting like-minded people from any forum in real life is always nice and definitely well spent time. Reading the posts in this thread brought back the hope to me as I have thought that the priorities are strictly for the "established collectors". Therefore I am very glad to see that IWC cares also for the newcomers. Hope to meet some of you guys!
