The current 98000-calibre family of recent seems to bear no resemblance to the calibre 98 of old.

I see the resemblance to the original Jones calibre, but fail to see it in the c. 98 family.

What was the logic behind this? Am I missing something?

    Thanks, JB

    Happy New Year to All!

    Hi Big,

Yes, you are missing something. Turn the Cal. 98 to the same position (about 45 degrees to the left), add a three-quarters plate to cover the bridges for the wheel, and add a similar regulator and you're just about there.

This has been discussed previously, and posts can be found in the archives, such as right here. Basically the position of the wheels is the same, but there's bridges and cocks rather than a three-quarters plate covering them.

Ah yes, I should have seen this. Thanks.

Still looks more like a Jones....Never mind the technical details.

Thanks Michael and have a happy new year!
