    Hello,

I currently own a Mk XVI Pilot on a leather strap. Does anyone know if the new bracelet for the Mk XVII will fit the Mk XVI? I have seen that the lug size is the same for both watches (20mm), but given the increased diameter of the XVII I wonder if its new bracelet will still fit the XVI?

    Thanks

    Regards

    Hi Paul:

I too have a XVI and have been considering a bracelet. When the new Pilots were introduced and the "micro-adjustable" bracelet announced, I called my AD for the answers to your exact questions.

His reply was that he believes it will work. However, he stressed that while the lugg size remains 20mm, casing shape may prohibit a flush smooth intergration. His recommendation was to just wait until the new bracelet arrives and then it can be tested for proper fit and finish.

I think his advice is sound. As excited as I am about having another option for my MARK, best to get things right the first time.

I really like the bracelet "Link Design" and hope it turns out to be a perfect fit.

Paul --I think I should second what Andy says.

I asked someone in product management at IWC a while back, and he was doubtful due to a difference in curvature despite the same lug width. I suspect it might fit, but it's something worth trying before ordering. I don't know how "off" the curve might be.

Why not get the bracelet for the XVI, that will fit as it should since it was made for the watch. You might find that the clasp from the new Mk will fit but it might not; its benefit being that it has finer adjustment than the outgoing bracelet, summer-winter fitting.

Thank you everyone for your comments, much appreciated. I will try out the new bracelet on the XVI once it arrives next month and will report back my findings!

    Paul:

I also will be on the lookout when it comes in to my AD. Whomever gets it first can report back with results.
