I spotted this watch at another watch forum, borrowed the picture: apart from the recently announced Big Pilot Safari, there will be the Big Pilot Heritage Titanium. I think it looks fantastic! It is not a limited edition, as far as the picture of the back shows. I wonder whether this new watch will deminish the interest in the Safari, to me the planning of both watches at about the same time is a bit unlucky. It seems the Heritage will be available at the end of this year, about half a year earlier than the Safari.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Oh wow. Between the two just announced today, I like the bronze more; the faux patina lume just works better in my opinion. Wondering how the bronze will look once it develops a heavy patina after some wear.

As for the Safari, I'd still choose that one over the Heritage model. It just looks more fitting overall with a monochromatic look, compared to that hint of red on the Heritage model.

All beautiful watches, though! Each one special in their own way. I hope pricing for the Safari Big Pilot would be similar as these new models -not too far off of the "standard" Big Pilots.

I think IWC nailed it here - loved the blued hands.. I think the titanium safari will be a highly sought after unicorn, especially as the more available titanium BP gains interest. I think a titanium BP only makes sense - keeps the nice presence of a big pilot without the associated weight :)

All 100pcs of Safari were sold anyway, the presence of Ti Heritage should be ok.

It's a good looking watch, something people were suggesting last year when we saw Heritage 55 and 48.

I think that this IW501004 would have benefitted from having the date wheel treated with the same faux patina lume as the numerals. The white really looks out of place to me. I agree with Koch that the red on the dial is also a distraction. I don't think that anyone who bought the Safari has any regrets due to this announcement - and in any case they had ample time to change their minds as IWC only started collecting deposits on the Safari last week.

I think it's a great looking watch, also the Mark XVIII version is really cool with the blued hands!

I like the direction IWC is taking, much closer to the original design overall, except for most of the Ingenieurs :-(

    Kind regards,

i went to the boutique to buy this beauty.... alas, it had all the qualities I wanted in a BP, titanium, lume applied on numerals... but didn't walk out with one. Just to let you know, this watch's lume color is closer akin to yellow than tan color. I wasn't looking for a watch with yellow lume, so I didn't buy. I was very distraught as I knew I couldn't get the safari (sold out) and I thought this would have been a great pickup. Still looking for other BPs out there that might fit my fancy, but since there are not too many BPs that are Titanium, I will probably end up with a SS version
