Hi all,
it's not the SAME watch I selled 30 years ago. Of course it then has other
movement no. and case nos.
It is without any scratch, with a new black croco strap and a seperate clasp.
I am really happy!!!
PS: Maybe it's something wrong with the moonphase. I know that you have to
wind it up to 2 am and back to 11 pm and so on. But here you have to knock on
the crown a little bit and the moon "walks" one day forward.. Funny! I will go
to WEMPE and check it.

Hi Adrian,
I am curious if the Portofino 5251 is the same I selled appr. 30 years ago.
This 5251 also has a nice story: I found it by Google search in the Internet.
It was located by a juweler near Dusseldorf. So I phoned him, just to say that
I would buy the watch. He said there are more that 30 peaople who want to buy
this watch. No chance? When I'm stressed I am incrdibly good in reacting -
even lieing. So I told him that my father lost his beloved 5251 (in fact he
would not spent 100€ for any watch) on a airport and since then he is so sorry
about that. Next week would be his birthday I I want to paay him something
back of all HE gave me. The juweler was very impressed and said:" I will sell
you the watch - what a beautiful story!" The next day I had the watch on my
wrist. Oh after buying that watch I went into a bank to get me some money.
When I get back to my car I noticed: I had forgotten the package with the 5251
in the bank -beside a money automat. I hurried back as fast as I could - it
still was there!!!

Hi to all forumners.
Many of the old stuff will remember me and that I write very seldom here after the German forum was closed.
Yesterday I completed a new item which was on my wishlist for years:
The Filegerchrohograph Rattrapante, AKA "Jumbolino".
It came with this complicated steel bracelet (I always wondred who assembles THAT . . . modern slavery to me :=)
It's the Ref.# 3711.
All the best
Hans

Hi Paul,
excuse my bad writing. News with an "N" is a German Habit :=)
So, it is ver strange that Micharel left the Forum without any word.
Is there a new moderator now?
Until then . . .

This is a new category on the forum. The goal is to post in depth articles some of our forum members wrote about IWC topics.
In the past, there were great posts of high historical importance, written by collectors, that faded away in the history of the forum.
In this section, I want to highlight these articles and give them the exposure they deserve.
If you want that one of the posts are published here, please do send us an e-mail and together with IWC, we will review them and post these articles here.
The first article will be posted shortly, it is an article never published on the forum.
Hi Tonny,
well spoken ("that faded away in the history of the forum.")
I think I am one of the "faded guys".
I heard the News about a new moderator and maybe some faded persons will re-appear :=)
