First LE for Russian market was produced!! A tribute to famous Russia gymnast (12 Olympic medals), 50 pieces of steel BP will be sold in Russia only. According to the rumours the watch No. 1 will get Alexei and the watch No. 2 - V. Putin.
Who is interesting, can find the info about him in wiki.

    This is "official" photo:

Saw this briefly on Facebook yesterday thanks to SC. But then it was mysteriously deleted.

    Very cool watch.

roman, cool indeed. once again i think a lot of conscious design thought & methodology has been put into this by IWC... as it 'speaks russian' to me if that makes any sense.

    thank you for posting!

One more detail - the colours of the dial repeat the colours of Russian flag:

What, Medvedev didn't rate a # 3? I like the execution, but I'm not sure about the starkly contrasting power reserve sub-dial.

bill i tend to agree with your view throughout all of iwc's watches-- i personally find the 'panda effect' of white subdial/black dial or black subdial/white dial too stark. but to each their own, and i'm certain this cool watch will be very popular. what a small edition size considering the certain demand.

I agree, few designs appeals to all customers. I bet this will be a sell out model in short order.

Another very interesting limited edition - again a Big Pilot with character and class. Poor Tracy and SC will be tapping up the air miles to keep their collections up to date ;-)

My appreciation of Limited editions is indeed a Guilty Pleasure. Working for a Personalized healthcare company and living this culture daily its only natural for me to appreciate the marketeering talents of such approaches in haute horlogerie as well.
