    Hello Tonny, hello everyone,

I'm delighted to join this community of IWC enthusiasts and collectors. A special thank you to Dr. Seyffer for inviting me.

    1. Where are you from?
I'm from Germany and live in Essen, in the heart of the Ruhr area.

    2. How did you become a collector of IWC watches?
My passion for IWC began when I was a young boy. My grandfather was an avid collector of IWC pocket watches, and his enthusiasm for the brand inspired me from an early age.

    3. Which IWC watch(es) do you have?
In addition to collector's pieces, I currently own a 2026 41 mm Petit Prince Chronograph, an older 36 mm Portofino and a Portugieser Perpetual Calendar.

    4. What is your next IWC or holy grail?
You never know! At the moment, I'm particularly drawn to the gold version of the new Mark XX.

    5. Are you interested in meeting other collectors?
Absolutely. I would love to meet fellow collectors who share the same passion. It would be great to attend a collectors' gathering or community event in the future. A guided tour through the legendary halls of IWC in Schaffhausen is also high on my wish list.

    6. Your profession and hobbies?
I am self-employed in the trades. My hobbies are quite diverse: I enjoy cycling and motorcycling, hunting and fishing, and simply spending time with good people and enjoying life.

    Best regards,

    Felix B.

Good morning all, a new member here based in South East UK.

After concentrating for too many years on Rolex and Omega, I purchased my first IWC in Dec 2025, a beautiful IWC Portugieser 42 Automatic in Steel, with silver dial, blue hands and blue leather strap - and I’m now addicted to the brand and wish I looked into IWC far sooner.

I’ve based a trip to Schaffhausen soon purely to visit the factory.

Although a “lesser spec” compared to my 42, my next purchase will be the IWC Portugieser 40 in Steel with the Salmon dial and black leather strap.

My grail is the Portugieser Eternal Calendar in Platinum.

    Thanks for reading !.

    kind regards / Bryan

I’m from [your country/state]. I became an IWC collector after trying on a Pilot’s Watch and falling for the clean design, solid build and understated elegance — that first wear was the key factor. Currently I own [your watch model(s)]. My next target (and holy grail) is [desired model, e.g. a Portugieser Chronograph or Big Pilot]. I’d be happy to meet other collectors at gatherings if the opportunity arises. By profession I’m a [your job], and outside of watches I enjoy [other hobbies]. Looking forward to learning from everyone here!

Great introduction! It’s always interesting to hear how collectors got into IWC and what makes certain pieces special to them. Looking forward to seeing more of your collection and reading about your collecting journey.

    Dear all,

I am Mattias Johansson from Sweden I recently inherited this watch and would really appreciate some help fidentifying it from you professionals. I have not had an IWC before but I know about the brand, what I have had previously i a Siöö Sandström Chronolink and a vintage Omega, which I like both.

The information I have so far:

    • Movement: IWC Calibre 88
    • Case number: 1,129,358
    • Bracelet: Stainless-steel bracelet, although I am not sure if it is original to the watch

I would especially like to find out:

    1. The approximate year of manufacture

    2. Whether the dial, hands and case appear original

    3. Whether the bracelet is likely original or a later replacement

Thank you in advance for any information or advice!

    Best regards

    Mattias Johansson

    I’m based in the US,

    • I became an IWC collector after getting drawn to their clean engineering and timeless design. That balance of heritage and precision really convinced me.
    • I currently have the IWC Portugieser Automatic.

Weddings and collector gatherings actually have something in common — the small details can make a big difference to the overall experience. At events, things like guest comfort, seating, parking, and restroom access are easy to overlook when planning the main attractions. For larger outdoor weddings especially, having enough restroom facilities is something worth planning early.
