We have started clearing our attic and closets, because we don't want that to be a task of our children in the future. Moving is not an immediate action, but there is so much stuff that one may not start early enough.
So, amongst others, I have found a box with watches from my parents and great-parents containing a gold (?) pocket watch from International Watch Co and an Eterna watch.
I enclose a few pictures of the International Watch Co.
Can you indicate if this is an interesting watch? I asked a local watch repairer, also well known with IWC watches, if it was pricewise interesting to service and possibly polish it. The reply was that for such an old watch the cost would be equal if not higher than the selling price it would have. Also due to the hard obtainable parts for such an old device.
So I decided to keep it for the time being. As the watch from my grandfather has limited emotional value to me, I thought it would be wise to sell it and from the returns I would be able to buy a more modern IWC wrist watch.
I hope someone may advise me what to do.
