As some of you will know I recently purchased a Ref 325 and have sent it to IWC in Shaffhausen for a full service and have also asked for a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). I have received the quote back and was surprised to learn that the COA will only include the case number, it will NOT include the movement number. I find this very strange and was hoping someone (Michael?) could explain this to me. I would have thought that any COA would have to include both the Case number and the movement number, otherwise how do you know that the movement is original? (it also does not list where it was originally sold)
I also asked for an Extract from the Archives for this watch and I understand that they don't provide these anymore because they were concerned about issuing an Extract without every seeing the watch BUT they have my watch there so can't see any reason why they shouldn't also be able to provide an Extract from the Archives (I am interested in the history of this watch)
