As written here some time ago, Michael left the position as moderator, but he would assume a new role as IWC Collectors’ Forum editor ; writer of articles for the forum.
I am happy to post here his first article, an interview with our fellow forum member Antonio Gomes.
    Enjoy the read

The Collectors' interviews are an excellent series. I am delighted Tony has been "honoured". An enjoyable read about a fascinating collector and good friend.

Absolutely great read and very rewarding to see Antonio talking about his passion for the legacy IWC pieces.

He fails to mention, that like me he too somehow cherishes almost all the old legacy IWC timepieces, and is one of the few people I know, who can "see" the beauty in some of those pieces - including his most favorite of all - the one he passionately refers to as "Butt & Butt Ugly"!

Come on Tony, do share that magnificent piece of history with us here to please.

This is the watch Mark calls "Butt & Butt Ugly".
The images on the dial are of the German Kaiser Wilhelm II on the left and the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph on the right.

Empress Elizabeth of Austria aka Sisi was the wife of the Austrian Emperor. Just to balance this post with her beauty. :-)

    Hi Norbert,
Are you still standing by your theory that the compulsion to acquire objects in large quantities is an attempt to ward off death, even if metaphysically?
How am I doing on that respect, then? :-)
