So I recently purchased a 1942 Cal. 83, but after some searching, have been unable to find any other cases with the same style of lugs as the one I have. Along with the stamping seeming somewhat sloppy and no perlage on the caseback itself, I am concerned that, while I believe the movement and dial are real, the case is a fake.
Does anyone know or have seen this style of lugs where the lugs themselves push up against the crystal?
*Note: If this was recased and not made by IWC, kudos to the original case designer because the little difference in the lugs not only elongates the watch on the wrist, but also give the watch more sense of depth. Almost as if the movement itself is being restrained by the watch straps to prevent it from breaking free. I will take it as it is because I do love it, I am just concered that it isn't originally created by IWC despite the stamp.
